Topping-Out 2019 with The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Sarasota
Following in from the groundbreaking in 2018, SB Architects and The Kolter Group reach a milestone in construction, celebrating the topping-out of The Ritz-Carlton Residences Sarasota, Florida, at 19 stories.
When designing the Residences, SB Architects ensured that the branded residential tower would have a strong connection to the surrounding area, integrating unobstructed water vistas in the design and situating the new tower at a distinctive angle to inspire visual interest. Breaking with the traditional architectural style of the area, the design team created wide cantilevered balconies that circle the building, providing residents with private outdoor space and sweeping views of the Bay. Oriented to the west, with a slight south rotation, the contemporary tower is designed to express Sarasota’s unique coastal lifestyle and capture the famed ‘sunshine state’ sunset.
“Luxury is a pre-requisite for branded residential, and SB Architects’ design not only addresses the needs of the high-end clientele, but it’s a striking, contemporary addition to the Sarasota skyline, providing the ultimate in luxury coastal living and connecting residents to the beauty and tranquility of the waterfront. This is our third project completed with Kolter Urban and we are thrilled to continue our ongoing collaboration with a company committed to setting new standards in residential development.”
Pinar Harris, Vice President, SB Architects
The design delivers a sense of luxury through ample living spaces, large terraces, master bathrooms with a high-end spa look and feel, and a direct link to the Ritz-Carlton, providing residents access to an amenity-rich lifestyle in the cultural capital of Florida.
SB Architects collaborated with EDSA on the site planning and detailed design. HBA (Hirsch Bender Associates) designed the shared spaces, while interior designer Bob Martin, of The Decorators Unlimited, designed the interior residential finishes.
