Tiffany Montañez | Associate of the Year
We’re delighted to announce that Tiffany Montañez has been awarded ‘Associate of the Year’ at the 2022 AIA Miami Honor Awards.

As always, I’m appreciative of the continued support from my SB Architects team, who very kindly accepted this award on my behalf as I was away in Nashville at the NOMA Conference.”
Tiffany’s award was accepted by Pinar Harris, Vice President & Principal; Matt Peterson, Vice President & Associate Principal; Lucienne Walpole, Vice President; and Hermann Gonzalez, Vice President.
Since joining SB Architects in 2018, Tiffany’s professionalism, strong principles, and excellent communication skills have made a positive impact on our firm, on both projects and culture.
Beyond her project management effort, Tiffany is very active within the architectural community as a design professional, organizer, and advocate. Her passion for JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) helps inform how she navigates the building industry and collaborates with her peers. Focused on pushing herself and others to be active participants in creating a more equitable profession, Tiffany was an integral part of initiating our internal Diversity and Inclusion Committee, helping to promote inclusivity and engagement within our team. For this year’s International Women’s Day, Tiffany moderated a panel with five female industry leaders to take a deep dive into issues facing women in the architecture sector and what steps we can take to improve as a profession.

As Co-Chair of the AIA Miami chapter’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Tiffany has made an impact on the sector, organizing events such as ‘Segregation by Design’ and moderating a panel on ‘Thoughtful Inclusivity: Architecture’s Necessity for Universal Design’. She is also the South Florida NOMA Project Pipeline Co-Chair. The SoFlo NOMA chapter hosted the first in-person Project Pipeline Summer Camp in the state of Florida.
Tiffany is part of the ACE Mentorship Program as a Broward County Mentor, which has led to her organizing the ACE Mentorship program for our Miami office. She arranged for us to host the South Florida NOMA Chapter for their general body meeting, and the NOMAS FIU Student Chapter, where we provided insight into the different phases of the architectural design process, company culture, Diversity & Inclusion, etc.
Personally, she organizes annual Thanksgiving drives, collecting and organizing items urgently needed to support The Lotus House, a local shelter for women and youths. Last year, in just a week, she managed to raise $3,100, which helped purchase urgent need supplies for the shelter’s community distributions.
