Freemark Abbey Winery, located in St. Helena, part of California’s Napa Valley, traces its roots to 1886. The historic building has been restored and transformed to offer new guest experiences including diverse wine education and tasting options in the Bosche Room. The renovation preserved the stone building which was originally constructed in 1899 and included a series of additions through 1906.

SB Architects introduced modern updates, including a dedicated space for the winery’s exceptional wine library, a rejuvenation of its original tasting room featuring a gallery display of key events through the years, a new lounge for Freemark Abbey wine club members, plus a barrel room and Partner’s Room.
A core component of the renovation design was capturing the winery’s historical significance while providing a welcoming, immersive and modern experience for visitors taking tours, tasting wine and enjoying a fine dining experience.
