Originally opened in 1984 as Anguilla’s first hotel property, SB Architects was tasked with renovating the iconic resort to bring it back to the forefront of exclusive, luxury destinations in the Caribbean.

Set on a dramatic 20-acre site, the renovation of this 30-year-old hotel carefully balanced two parallel goals – to preserve the historic hotel’s air of gracious hospitality while bringing the design to five-star standards befitting an Auberge Resorts Collection.

Maintaining most of the original structure, the redesign preserves elements central to the historic character of the hotel; creates new public spaces including a new open-air restaurant and bar, two-tiered pool and sunset bar, as well as a new spa; and strengthens the hotel’s connection to the site and the sea by opening up views.
