Los Cabos, Mexico

Situated on an outcropping that juts into the sea, this coveted property’s spectacular site provides unobstructed water views in two directions with access to two secluded beaches. Siting and massing of the lowrise, structures are designed to take advantage of the sloping site, providing views to all buildings. In addition, some hotel components tuck under other functions to diminish visible building coverage on the site.

The design is modern in form but utilizes materials and a color palette suggested by the surrounding desert landscape, the rugged coastline, and the indigenous architecture of the region. The arrival experience provides a journey of discovery with framed ocean vignettes coming into view at every turn.

Public spaces and restaurants take advantage of the mild climate and coastal breezes with open walls and screens.

At the southwest edge of the site, the beach bar is deceptively simple in volume but high in impact. The upper-level roof terrace is dramatically set high above grade, overlooking the varied terrain and the ocean beyond.

Set within the contours of the terraced site, this property is designed to work with the land – its shapes and contours, arid climate, brilliant light, rough textures, sloping site, and magnificent views – to create a rare experience that is truly “of the place.” The master plan and design are edited to evoke a curated experience that provides unencumbered views from every single vantage point. This is the driving force behind the design and the defining character of this destination.

The branded residences are clustered in five buildings of either two or five stories. Two of the five buildings are topped with residential penthouses.
