A nature-driven wellness oasis, Las Estancias Estate is a beachfront property outside of the rainforest in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

Part of an exclusive community, the estate features two cottages, a reflecting pool, swimming pool, and an elevated yoga deck, all of which are connected by elevated boardwalks.

Fusion of Styles

Designed in an architectural style that fused Polynesian and East Asian influences, Las Estancias used materials and construction techniques appropriate to the Caribbean.

Beyond basic code requirements, sustainability measures were integral designing the Las Estancias Estate as the clients desired a wellness-centered and nature-focused estate.

Innovatively Sustainable

The design team innovatively designed a way for the rainfall to be utilized to integrate a collection system from outdoor and indoor water collection to support the needs of the landscape. There were also numerous solar panels installed for energy collection, as well as a material palette of local Caribbean stone and wood, for material resilience and resources.
