Treehouse Hotel Sunnyvale

Sunnyvale, California

Nestled within the heart of Silicon Valley and steps from Google’s Sunnyvale campus, the new Treehouse Hotel is a reimagined twist on the rich cultural heritage of Sunnyvale.

Taking cues from both the city’s agrarian past and the hotel brand’s ethos of contemporary nostalgia, the design embraces a sense of community, warmth, and wonder. Once an area abundant with fruit trees and farmland, the hotel will provide guests with the framework to relax and reconnect – a reflection of simpler times in a bygone era.

THE DESIGN

CURATED MOMENTS OF DISCOVERY

The Treehouse Hotel, Sunnyvale repurposes an existing hotel from the early 80s into a playful Agrarian Oasis – an escape from the hustle and bustle of Silicon Valley.

An agrarian overlay will be infused throughout the design with eatable, fragrant landscaping, a utilization of rustic material palettes, and the almost random yet curated moments of discovery to help create a sense of curiosity and discovery.

AN AGRARIAN OASIS

The existing buildings have been reimagined to enhance the agricultural experience of the site while new portions of the development continue the theme by adding uses with complementary yet unique architectural expressions to coincide with the “built over time” character of the hotel.

Sustainability is at the heart

SUSTAINABLE & EASY-GOING

With buildings targeting LEED Silver and localized flora and fauna complementing the built environment. Wood, brick, and different types of metal finishes have been carefully curated to age gracefully over time to and help celebrate the hotel’s easy-going lifestyle.

“Every inch of this playful property, from mismatched materials to secret nooks and unexpected artwork, creatively combines the energy and intensity of Silicon Valley’s high-tech culture with the simpler, older, more natural charms of the Santa Clara Valley’s pre-Internet era.”
